Hopewell Middle School

Here is the video we showed today, student produced. Yesterday we showed a video from Random House. Both of course were on Morning Announcements. Today, the principal spoke before the video was shown.

Today is Happy Safer Internet Day, the county has lots of resources located here: https://employees.fultonschools.org/Technology/InstructionalTechnology/Pages/InternetSafetyTrainingResources.aspx. One resource is the WSB special, Social Media and Your Kids, certainly worth taking a look at.

Tomorrow is Digital Learning Day -, a time for teachers and students to try something new in the area of Technology.
Edutopia, has a lot of great resources for you to investigate at this link, http://www.edutopia.org/digital-learning-technology-resources?gclid=CPD5svq7n7UCFdOHMgodZ2EAaA.

If this is too much for you, I have created a Symbaloo (bookmarks in a graphic format) with a lot of direct links to Web 2.O sites, such as Tagzedo, Screen Cast-O-Matic, Drop Box, Toki-toki Timelines, Easy Bib, Tiny Url and many more. Please take a look, you might find a great new site for you and your students. The Symbaloo is located on the School Website/Students/Media Center/Destiny/Symbaloo.

We are slowly getting our EBook collection together for you and your students to use. Teachers already have a Destiny Account, the user name is your last name and first initial. Your pw is your Barcode/SAP #. To access ebooks, go to Destiny, click on Log in and  use your user name and pw.

Students will have to create an account in Destiny. I have created a Screen Cast-O-Matic with Directions for students to do just that. It can be found at the School Website/Students/Media Center/ Destiny/Screen Cast-O-Matic.  We also have step by step instructions in PDF format to check ebooks in or out, Using your IPad/Android Device for ebooks, these documents are available on the School Website/Students/Media Center.

Try something new with technology or share a great technology find with your co-workers. Have a great day!
