AUTREY MILL MIDDLE SCHOOL

8th Grade Spanish

Students will use technology for “break-out sessions”. One group will be using the I-pad cart to review verb conjugations and other grammar related aspects of the chapter on various websites. One group will use QR codes to look at the art of Diego Rivera and Frido Kahlo before creating their own murals based on the inspirations they took away. The third group will use the desktop PC’s to go on a web quest. Students will have several options including researching the customs, foods, and sights of Oaxaca, Mexico. These activities will culminate with a visit to the High Museum’s current exhibition on Diego Rivera. Students will also have the opportunity to blast their thoughts about what they will see on Edmodo and Todaysmeet.com. I will take pictures of these activities.

Also this week, a team of 8th graders was issued a tablet for all assignments. This is a pilot program for our school.
